After the Xiabu fabric is prepared, our cooperative ink-wash artists sketch classic landscape motifs—such as misty mountains, winding rivers, pine trees, and distant pavilions—using light carbon pencils. They then apply mineral-based inks (including pine smoke ink and cinnabar for subtle color accents) with hand-ground brush tips, layering washes to create the "light and shadow" effect unique to ink-wash art. The rough yet delicate texture of Xiabu absorbs the ink evenly, making the mountains’ layers and rivers’ flow more vivid and three-dimensional.
Each painting is framed with solid bamboo (a sustainable material) to complement the natural aesthetic of Xiabu, with sizes ranging from 40x60cm (small for wall nooks) to 120x180cm (large for main walls).
